Newport woman charged with Domestic Battery

A Newport woman is being charged with Domestic Battering in the third degree after Hempstead County Deputies were dispatched to a residence to respond to a physical altercation.

According to the affidavit, when deputies made their arrival to the residence they made contact with Robert Triplett, who had noticeable cuts and bruises on his face and arms as well as a fresh cut on his left forearm that was still bleeding. It was reported that Triplett told deputies that the woman at his house who was identified as 29 year old Kadelynd Moore had been dropped off at his home a couple of days prior, around April 1st or 2nd and that he’s been asking her to leave since she arrived but she refused to leave. Moore had allegedly cut Triplett’s right forearm with a part of a broken mirror a day or two prior. Triplett also had other injuries that he received from Moore.

According to the report, Moore told deputies that Triplett had picked her up from RiverView in Texarkana on March 29th and brought her back to his home and that they have been in an on and off relationship for quite some time. After speaking with both individuals, both Moore and Triplett were issued a citation for domestic battering in the third degree. Deputies informed Moore that Triplett no longer wanted her on his property and told her that she had to leave. It was reported that while deputies were getting ready to transport Moore to Hope in Action, Deputy Guadalupe Becerra searched Moores purse and found multiple knives, a small baggie of a clear crystal like substance suspected to be methamphetamine, along with another twelve small empty baggies. One of the empty baggies contained marijuana residue. Moore was then placed under arrest and transported to the Hempstead County Jail and charged with Possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
