NHS Scrappers win 7-4A district track title

The Scrappers are district champs for the 10th time in the past 11 years! The Scrapperettes are district runner-up!

Boys Results

    Randy Ortiz was named high point award winner, scoring 32.5 points. Randy won the 800, 1600, 3200, and was on the winning 4×400 relay team. LD Hendrix is breaking records again. LD broke the district record in the 100 (10.79), tying his school record set earlier this year. He also broke the district and school record in the 200 (22.02). For the night, the Scrappers won 13 of the 18 events in the meet. Most importantly, Nashville qualified 19 for the state meet.

Girls Results

  1. De Queen – 274.5
  2. Nashville – 192.5
  3. Hope – 68
    Heavyn Collins and Lauren Carver combined to score 76 points and finished 2nd and 3rd in the high point race. The Scrapperettes won 7 events: Heavyn Collins (100 and 100 hurdles), Lauren Carver (200 and long jump), Sidney Townsend (shot put), Macy Morris (discus), and the 4×100 relay. The girls team has qualified 20 for the state meet.

Nashville hosts the 4A State Meet next Tuesday, May 4.
