NHS Student nominated as Vice Chair of Howard County Democratic Party

Recently, Nashville Senior Luis Maya II was elected Vice Chair of the Howard County Democratic Party of Arkansas, the number two position in the Howard County Democratic Party of Arkansas leadership. The Democratic Party of Howard County is the official Democratic Party affiliate of Howard County, Arkansas, and the county branch of the Arkansas Democratic Party. Maya talked about the day he was nominated.

Maya is the first Hispanic and youngest person elected as Howard County Vice Chair in Arkansas history. Maya said diversity is very important and everyone can be a part of trying to move society forward. 

In conclusion, Maya said growing up Southwest Arkansas and being proud of his southern identity has been fundamental to his character and leadership development. 

Maya said-quote “I look forward to serving our party and county in this new capacity. Under the great words of past Governor Mike Beebe, I face the future with great courage and a strong vision: “under promise and overdeliver.”
