NHS Student recognized by the Academy for Public Service
The Academy for Public Service held its second legislative session June 12th-June 16th. The session was held in the Arkansas State Capitol in Little Rock.
The model legislature proposed 400 legislative bills, more than 150 model laws were made: including appropriations for the model government of Arkansas.
The model legislature was made up of students from around the state. Students learned about public service, leadership, parliamentary procedure, issues affecting the state and marginalized populations, ethics, professionalism, and collaboration. There were no political parties.
Luis Maya II represents House District 18 which includes: Nashville, Mineral Springs, Dierks, Glenwood Delight, Murfreesboro, Umpire, Okolona, and Pearcy. This includes most of Howard Countv, most of Pike County, western Clark County, Southeastern Montgomery County, western Hot Spring County, and southwestern Garland County.

The Creation of a Rural Infrastructure Fund
To Completely Repeal Sales and Use Tax on Food and Food Ingredients
To Create an Emerging Farmers Fund
Co-sponsor of AMTRACK and Level One Railways in Arkansas.
Created a Tax Credit for Industries Creating “Green” Jobs also known as Maya for Clean, Green Jobs Act
Co-Sponsor an Act to make Election Day a State Holiday and to allow for two hours paid leave to vote.
To Create a Farm to Food Bank GrantTo Establish the Red River Conservation Committee
The Delta & Rural Development Act to allow for the donation of dissolved nonprofits to donate their assets to other tax-exempt or local government entities.
To Amend the Computer Science Education Advancement Act of 2021 to Require Career and Technical Education Courses, Which Shall Include Computer Science Courses Co-sponsor to Amend Requirements for Higher Education Baccalaureate Degrees
Co-sponsor to Create Arkansas Flag Day
To Improve Voter Integrity and Allow for Electronic Voting Registration.
