NHS Students Take Arkansas Career Readiness Certificate Exam

The ACT WorkKeys Arkansas Career Readiness Certificate is a portable, assessment-based credential that confirms to employers that an individual possesses basic workplace skills in reading documents and contracts; interpreting data from a spectrum of various blueprints, charts and graphs; and applying higher level mathematic skills in the workplace. The Arkansas Career Readiness Certificate is issued at four levels: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze and verifies that each recipient has the skills required for 21st century jobs. The Arkansas Department of Workforce Services has issued over 73,000 certificates to members of the adult workforce and qualifying high school students with the following score results in each of the four levels: 17% Bronze, 59% Silver; 23% Gold, and less than 1% Platinum.

In December 2019, eight NHS students in Mrs. Patricia Stinson’s Career Ready class took the Arkansas Career Readiness Certificate exam: Seniors – Maddie Pinkerton, Platinum; Autumn Dyer and Daphne Mendez, Gold; Michael Crabtree, Bronze. Sophomores – Alex Martinez, Gold; Rebekah Vallee and Mason Turbeville, Silver; Jenna Hostetler, Bronze.
