NJHS Trap Teams Competing in State

The Nashville Junior High Trap Squad will be competing in the State Trap Tournament this Friday in Jacksonville.

NJHS student Caney White is on the first squad and Emily Wescott and Jackson Billy are on the second squad. White stated that there are five to a squad and his squad finished second overall out of 164 teams and the second squad finished in 14th place.  

White talked about other activities that take place at these tournaments, how he got involved in trap shooting sports, and his plans after high school.

Wescott is the top shot female on the squad and she talked about how she’s been doing in the competitions along with how she got involved in the trap team.

White will also be competing in the Champion of Champions at the Jr. State Tournament against two other kids. White shot a 25 out of 25 and the only competitor to do so out of 541 competitors in the region. The total number of kids that shot in the entire state is 1,626 and only three shot the perfect 25.
