Mineral Springs – Police Chief Dykes Resigns

Mineral Springs City Council met this week during this meeting Chief of Police Jonathan Dykes announced that effective today Wednesday, December 15th, he would be stepping down from his position. Dykes also announced his successor to be Francisco Mercado who is a Mineral Springs native. Dykes thanked the city for the opportunity to serve. New chief, Francisco Mercado, announced that the 2 officers who have been with the city this year while completing the police academy would be hired on full time. This included Dalton Potter and Nathan Cornish. Chief Mercado said he was looking forward to serving the community where he grew up and thankful for the opportunity to do so.
