NSD approves changes to the Personnel Policies Committee
The Nashville School Board met on May 20h. During the meeting, Stacia Petty was awarded Teacher of the Year for her dedication to her students and her pride in the work she has done for the school district and community. Also, during the meeting, two resignations were accepted.
Those resignations were Parker Long, junior high band director, and Leslie Strong, junior high math. Following those resignations, six applications were accepted into the district. Those were Cole Jackson, special education paraprofessional, Kimberly Torres, ESL, Clarrisa Rizzo, Girls Soccer coach, Aaron Turner, Boys Soccer coach, Akira Langston, junior high nurse, and Esperanza Ortiz, junior high ESL.
The board approved a change in the Personnel Policies Committee, introducing Policy 3.0. This policy states that the PPC shall be made up of 8 teachers and 3 administrators. These 8 will be made up of 2 teachers from Nashville Primary, 2 teachers from Nashville Elementary, 2 teachers from Nashville Junior High, and 2 teachers from Nashville High school. A 3% raise was approved for classified staff in the district. This raise will be applied July 2024, meaning the raise will be reflected in staff’s 2024-2025 school year salaries.
