Outlaws and Hornets fall out of 2A playoffs

The 3-2A conference went 1 for 4 in the first round of the playoffs last Friday night.

The Dierks Outlaws were the number one seed from the conference and hosted the England Lions. The Lions were the four seed from the 4-2A conference, but the Lions pulled away from the Outlaws in the fourth quarter to advance to the second round of the 2A playoffs.

Dierks took a 8 to 6 lead in the first quarter and went in the locker room at the half tied at 14 a piece, but the Lions scored four touchdowns in the second half, while holding the Outlaws to 14 points to claim the 42 to 28 victory.

The Outlaws end their season with a 9 and 2 record and a 3:2A conference championship.

The Mineral Springs went on the road in the first round of the 2A playoffs and lead the majority of the game, but the Carlisle Bison slipped past them in the four quarter to claim a 32-28 victory.

In other 3-2A action, Poyen fell to Hazen 48 to 6, while Mt Ida remains the only 3-2A team to remain standing after defeated Episcopal 40 to 13. Mt Ida will be on the road this week at Des Arc for their semi-final match-up.
