Nashville Parks and Recreation approved to use Nashville Junior High gym

Last week, Aldermen of the Nashville City Council held their regular monthly meeting. 


For the month of January, the total revenue was $756,986.96 and total expenditures was $942,104.62. Expenditures exceeded revenue by $185,117.66. 


General-Fire Capital Outlay was $100,000 which was contributed towards purchasing of 2019 Custom Rescue Pumper paid to Brindlee Mountain Fire. General-Park Capital Outlay was $10,775.00 for the 2022 Club Golf Car paid to Clear Creek Golf Car. $2,000 was transferred to Street for operating expenses and $30,115 was transferred to Animal Control to purchase 2022 GMC Canyon. City Sales Tax decreased 4% which is $6,036 less than January 2022 and County Sales Tax Decreased 2.7% which is $2,476 less than January 2022. These items were extraordinary expenses for the month of January. There was a motion made by aldermen Freddie Horne and seconded by Will Turley to approve the financial report for the month of January. 

Parks and Recreation Director Meghan Floyd stated that the draft for baseball is complete, and they have a total of 47 teams ranging from 5u to 14u. Floyd said they had 281 kids from Nashville alone to register for baseball. Floyd also mentioned that she talked to Superintendent Doug Graham and Mayor Larry Dunaway about being able to utilize the Junior High Basketball Gym for next basketball season due to having too many kids and programs just to have access to one court. Floyd said Graham agreed to allow them to use the Junior High Gym as well as white side.
