Peek Accepts Plea Deal, Sentenced to 12 years in ADC

A 47-year-old Kirby man accepted a plea agreement Monday morning in Pike County Circuit Court, resolving multiple charges stemming from separate incidents.
Nathan Peek pleaded guilty to three counts and was sentenced to a total of 12 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
Under the agreement, Peek received six years for terroristic threatening and six years for possession of a firearm by certain persons. Those sentences will run consecutively. He was also sentenced to five years for furnishing, possessing, or using prohibited articles; that sentence will run concurrently with the others.
The charges stem in part from a June 13, 2025 incident. According to reports, Peek became upset and told a neighbor, Dustin Young, that “someone was going to pay.” Authorities say Peek then returned to his father’s home and retrieved a firearm.
A witness, Alexandria Welch, later reported that Peek did not have a gun in his possession at one point during the incident but was yelling threats, including statements that if children were not brought inside, he would shoot them, the Young family, and others nearby. He also allegedly threatened to engage in a shootout if law enforcement responded.
The third charge arose from a separate incident while Peek was incarcerated in the Pike County Jail, where authorities reported he was found smoking a marijuana cigarette.
