Phase 1B of COVID-19 vaccinations begin today

Today marks the beginning of Phase 1B for COVID-19 vaccinations in Arkansas, meaning 440,000 Arkansans are added to the list of eligible individuals for the COVID-19 vaccine. As of today, the vaccine may now be given to state residents who are 70 years of age and older, K-12 teachers and staff, and Higher Education workers. Anyone else who is listed in the recently outlined group to receive the vaccinations in Phase 1B, will start at a later date.
The Department of Health says the vaccinations will be available in Howard County at Power Health Mart Pharmacy and Dierks Pharmacy.. Pike County’s 1B vaccination location is listed at Woodard Drug in Glenwood. Anyone 70 and older will need to contact their nearest pharmacy by phone to schedule an appointment for receiving the vaccination.
