Pike County Circuit Court

A four year prison term was given to a Gurdon man Monday in Pike County Circuit. 40 year old Joshua Thomas was arrested in August of last year during a traffic stop near the Center Point School District. At the time of the arrest, police said a .380 caliber handgun was found in Thomas’ vehicle. He was charged with Possession of Firearm By Certain Persons due to having a previous felony domestic battery conviction. In addition to the four years, Thomas was also given a six year suspended sentence yesterday.
In other cases from Monday, 21 year old Jesse Jackson of Delight was sentenced to three years probation and fined 15 hundred dollars. Jackson was charged last month with Attempted 3rd Degree Escape after he broke away from officers who were escorting Jackson from a District Court proceeding in Murfreesboro.
A trial date of January 30th was set for 52 year old Lavoyce Wilder of Amity. Wilder was arrested last week on four counts of rape and four counts of sexual indecency with a child. His bond was set at 100 thousand dollars.
