Trooper Smedley successfully executed a P.I.T. maneuver on Mountain View Road with Bean’s vehicle coming to a stop in a nearby ditch. Bean exited the vehicle and continued to flee on foot. Smedley closed the distance and attempted to deploy his taser but was unsuccessful due to Bean’s thick clothing. Bean was searched and found to have bags containing marijuana and methamphetamine. Upon searching his vehicle a syringe believed to contain methamphetamine was found. Bean was transported to the Pike County Sheriff’s office where he refused a blood and urine test. The field tested drugs have been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for further analysis. Bean has his plea and arraignment scheduled for January 3rd of 2022.
