Pike County Court – Richard Babich

Pike County Court met Monday afternoon seeing 33 YO Richard Babich of Glenwood. Babich is facing a felony charge for possession of drug paraphernalia used for methamphetamine. Facts constituting reasonable cause are as follows:

On June 18th Sergeant Michael Lesher was dispatched to Caddo Canoe Cabin Rentals in reference to a suspicious person running around screaming. Upon arrival Lesher made contact with the individual who made the call who described the appearance of the man whom the call was in reference to. He also stated that this individual (later found to be Richard Babich) was running around the cabins screaming, shaking door handles of cabins, and acting weird. Deputy Jim Garrett advised Lesher he was speaking to a subject that identified himself as Richard Babich in the Wright’s Grocery Store parking lot. Dispatch confirmed Babich had a valid Parole Absconder Warrant and was placed into custody. During being searched Lesher located a smoking apparatus on Babich’s person. Babich has a pre trial hearing date set for August 23d and a trial date set for September 16th.
