Pike County Deputies Arrests Delight man for aggravated assault
On March 23rd at approximately 7:39pm, Pike County Deputies Micah Brown, Chance Reid, Brett Reid, Chris Gates, Wayne Epperly, and Jason McDonald were notified by dispatch of a male actively shooting at his wife in Delight.
It was reported that when officers arrived there was a white male sitting in a wheelchair in the front yard unarmed, who was identified as 63-year-old Dennis Hill of Delight. Hill reportedly told deputies that he was mad at his wife and was going to kill her. Hill then confessed to deputies that he shot at a tree in the direction of the house his wife was staying in and when asked about the gun Hill confessed that he had his brother-in-law to go hide the gun in the woods.
According to the affidavit, deputies placed Hill in hand restraints and then went inside the residence and found Hill’s brother-in-law 57-year-old Tony Hembey of Delight, laying down in the bed. Deputies then told Hembey to go outside. It was reported that deputies saw pipes used for smoking methamphetamine and marijuana throughout the house. It was reported that Deputies then placed Hembey in hand restraints. Deputies also located a 30-06 caliber rifle leaning against the house.
Hill was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threatening, Possession of Firearm by Certain Person and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Hemby was arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
