Pike County Extension Agent Discusses Upcoming Southwest Arkansas Homesteading Conference

The Pike County Extension Office is preparing to host the Southwest Arkansas Homesteading Conference this Saturday, and Extension Agent–Agriculture Codie McAlister is encouraging the public to attend.
During a recent interview, McAlister began by explaining her role as an agriculture extension agent, including the types of recommendations she provides to local farmers, landowners and gardeners, as well as the areas she focuses on in serving Pike County residents.
McAlister then shared details about the upcoming Southwest Arkansas Homesteading Conference, outlining what attendees can expect from the event and how it will benefit individuals interested in self-sufficiency and sustainable living.
She also discussed her personal approach to gardening, including some of the methods and tools she uses in her own growing efforts.
In addition to gardening, McAlister highlighted several other topics that will be covered during the conference, offering participants a wide range of practical information related to homesteading practices.
The Southwest Arkansas Homesteading Conference will take place this Saturday. Organizers say the event is designed for both beginners and experienced homesteaders looking to expand their knowledge and skills.
