Pike County Extension Office to Host Pesticide Applicator Training

The Pike County Extension Office is offering a Pesticide Applicator Training this month for those looking to become certified in pesticide application. The training sessions will be held on Tuesday, January 21st at 6 p.m. at the Murfreesboro Pike County Extension Office, and on Wednesday, January 22nd at 10 a.m. at the Glenwood Bainum Library Community Room.

Pesticide applicator training is designed to educate individuals on the proper and safe use of pesticides for agricultural, commercial, and residential purposes. The training covers essential topics such as pesticide safety, application methods, legal requirements, and environmental impact. Participants learn how to handle chemicals responsibly, apply pesticides effectively, and minimize potential risks to human health, wildlife, and the environment. This certification is often required for individuals seeking to apply pesticides professionally, ensuring they meet state and federal regulations and guidelines.

The training fee is $20, payable by cash or check made out to the Pike County CES, and can be paid on the day of the session.
