Pike County investigation leads to drug & gun arrest in Glenwood
Around the first of September, Pike County Investigator Jason McDonald informed Special Agent John Jones of the 9th West Drug Task Force that he had received information that a white male in Glenwood was selling methamphetamine from a residence at 201 Hayes Street.
According to court records, Investigator McDonald, Special Agent Jones and JD Jones of Arkansas State Police’s Criminal Investigation Division went to the address and a man identified as 43-year-old Johnny Ray Pitchford answered the door.
Pitchford was questioned outside the residence and informed that he could stop speaking with the officers at anytime.
Pitchford was informed that the sheriff’s office had received information that he had been selling drugs from his home. Pitchford allegedly stated that he had sold some, but only to support his own habit. He also allegedly informed the investigators that he had some meth inside his home along with a pipe and some scales.
When asked if the investigators could search his home, Pitchford agreed.
While searching for the narcotics, investigators also discovered several firearms.
Pitchford was taken into custody and charged with simultaneous possession of firearms and drugs, possession of meth with the purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, along with the enhancement of being in proximity to certain facilities.
