Pike County man charged with kidnapping, 1st Degree Terroristic Threatening, and 3rd Degree Domestic Battery
Assorted charges have been filed in Pike County in connection with the disappearance of a woman last month. Authorities say the family of Kelly Scott Johnson, of Waldron, reported her missing last month after she drove to the Delight area to meet someone in person that she had encountered through an online dating site. Johnson’s family members said she sent them a text message that she was being beaten and feared for her life.
Two days before Johnson was listed as missing, Pike County deputies worked a vehicle accident near the Delight city limits, with Johnson being listed as the registered owner. Through the investigation process, deputies learned an individual had taken the Scott County resident to a home on Highway 19 South. Deputies say that residence belonged to 40 year old Silas Humphry. Authorities tracked Johnson’s phone, with it’s location returning to near that same residence.
On February 12th, units from Pike County and the Special Response Team of the Arkansas Probation and Parole went to Humphry’s residence. Humphry and Johnson were both found inside the home.
Humphry was taken to the Pike County Jail and has since been charged with felony counts of Kidnapping, 1st Degree Terroristic Threatening, and 3rd Degree Domestic Battery.
