Pike County Man Facing Charges

An Arkansas State Police investigation has led to the arrest of an Amity man. Authorities say 52 year old LaVoyce Wilder was arrested yesterday by Pike County sheriff’s deputies and is charged with four counts of rape and four counts of sexual indecency with a child. Reports say State Police C.I.D. officers began interviewing several victims during September. The investigation determined Wilder allegedly had a sexual relationship, and/or contact, with multiple underage females Some of the alleged encounters happened as far back as nine years ago and continued into this year. Each Rape charge is a Class Y felony that’s punishable by a prison sentence of 10 to 40 years or life in prison. The Sexual Indecency with a Child is a Class D felony that carries a prison sentence of up 6 years and/or a fine not to exceed ten thousand dollars.
Wilder is scheduled for a plea and arraignment December 2nd in Pike County Circuit Court.
