Pike County Quorum Court
The Pike County Quorum Court held their regular monthly meeting Monday night.
According to Treasurer Loletia Rather’s report for the month of August, County General had a beginning balance of $1,987,816.10 and an ending balance of $2,086,415.38. County Road had a beginning balance of $790,334.09 and an ending balance of $780,862.15. Landfill had a beginning balance of $1,177,573.59 and an ending balance of $1,218,850.42. Justices of the Peace approved a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report.
County Clerk Randee Reid read an ordinance to the quorum that was in regard to approving the purchase of one 2006 140H used road grader from Hempstead County that Pike County Judge Eddie Howard mentioned to the quorum that was in the amount of $10,000. JPs then approve a motion to adopt the ordinance as presented. All were in favor of the motion.
In conclusion, Reid read a resolution to the quorum that was in regard to the quorum approving payment using LATCF Funds for the construction of a jail awning over the freezer units. JPs approved a motion to approve the resolution as read.
