Pike County Quorum Court approves ordinance to accept Local Assistance Tribal Consistency Funds
Members of the Pike County Quorum Court met Monday evening and approved an ordinance to establish a county general sub-fund for the Local Assistance Tribal Consistency Fund.
LATC funds is a general revenue enhancement program that provides additional assistance to eligible revenue sharing counties and eligible tribal governments. The funds are part of $2 billion dollars that were appropriated through the American Rescue Plan. According to the Association of Arkansas Counties, 67 counties in Arkansas are eligible to receive the funds, including Pike County.
Pike County will receive $94,439.37 in 2022 and 2023 and must submit an annual report stating how they spent the funds. The funds can be used for any governmental purpose, except lobbying activities.
Pike County Judge Dewight Mack reported there were no findings in the 2020-2021 legislative audits and that all county departments were in compliance.
Mack also appointed the 2023 budget committee. The first official meeting of the committee will be the Thursday following the General Election.
