Pike County Receives $20,000 Grant for Courthouse Security Improvements

Pike County has received a $20,000 grant to help fund security improvements at the county courthouse.
On Thursday, county officials were presented with the check as part of an effort to address security concerns and enhance safety measures within the courthouse. The funding will be used to make improvements in areas that county leaders identified as needing additional security.
Pike County Judge Eddie Howard said officials recognized several areas within the courthouse that required upgrades and applied for a Courthouse Security Grant to help cover those costs. Howard discussed the purpose of the grant and what the funding will be used for.
Judge Howard also spoke about the application process and what was involved in securing the grant funding for Pike County.
Receiving the grant is an important milestone for the county, and Howard reflected on what the funding means for both county officials and residents who use the courthouse.
Howard emphasized the importance of seeking outside funding opportunities and said grants have become a valuable resource for counties working to complete necessary projects while managing local budgets.
Judge Howard added that he plans to apply for the Courthouse Security Grant again next year in hopes of securing additional funding for future security enhancements.
