Pike County to use state aid funding for culverts

At this week’s meeting of the Pike County Quorum Court, Judge Dewight Mack reported that after a visit with the governor over recent flooding in the area, the county received $75,000 in state aid. Mack said that the funds would be put toward culverts, since the county has spent over $76,000 in culverts since July 16th.

In other business, Judge Mack is working the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and West Central Development to establish ATV trails around Lake Greeson. He would like to apply for a $500,000 grant from ARDOT. An engineer will be consulted on how to move forward with the project and what the cost will be.

The Pike County Quorum Court approved the purchase of a recording system for the sheriff’s office in the amount of $12,663. They also approved the purchase of two CAT 120 Motor Graders, authorizing the borrowing of $365,740 and execution of a promissory note to the Bank of Delight and other matters pertaining thereto. The loan should be paid in five years.
