Primary Election Underway Around Area Today

The preferential primary election is being held today across Arkansas. In Howard County, a light turnout of voters cast early ballots. There are two local races on today’s ballot including the Zone Two seat for the Nashville school board and the Zone 5 seat in Mineral Springs. All ballots today will also include a pair of Non-Partisan judicial races and presidential races on both party ballots.

Voting center locations in Howard County today are found at the Umpire Fire Station and community building, Dierks community center, tbe Carter Day Center, Howard County fair barn, Mineral Springs United Methodist Church and the Church of God in Tollette.

In Pike County, 630 people voted early according to county clerk Randee Reid. Voting Center locations today in Pike County will be in Glenwood, Kirby, Delight and Murfreesboro.

Registered voters may cast their ballots at any of the voting centers in the county where they live. Polls will be open today until 7:30 PM.
