Pursuit leads to drug arrest in Murfreesboro
A vehicle pursuit in the city of Murfreesboro last month has resulted in drug charges being filed against a Pike County resident. 29 year old Justin Stone of Delight was arrested by Murfreesboro officers and Pike County sheriff’s deputies. Authorities say the incident began when Officer Micah Brown observed Stone getting out of the driver’s side of a vehicle at a business & knew that Stone had a suspended license. When Stone left the store, Officer Brown said he attempted a traffic stop on Kelley Street, but Stone failed to stop. The pursuit ended at the Kelley Street and East Main intersection, as Deputy Paul Riley blocked the intersection with his patrol car. While conducting an inventory of the vehicle, police said they found a small plastic bag with a white, crystal like substance believed to be methamphetamine. Officers also say they recovered another clear bag that contained suspected marijuana. Both items were recovered in the vehicle’s center console.
Stone has been charged with a felony count of possessing cocaine. He’s also charged with the misdemeanor marijuana possession and drivers license infraction.
