High School Football Playoffs right around the corner

With two weeks remaining in the high school football regular season, two Howard County teams have the chance to be district champions and receive a number one seed in the playoffs, barring any cancellations related to COVID-19.
Following Friday’s games in the 7-4A Conference, Nashville is one of four teams to post three victories in conference play. The Scrappers and Robinson also each have one conference loss. Malvern and Ashdown also have three wins, but both of those schools have two losses each. Arkadelphia is the only undefeated team in conference play. However, COVID-19 caused Arkadelphia to miss three league games this season, which means they won’t have the opportunities for as many wins as other schools in the district, assuming all games are played, and Nashville wins their remaining two games. Wins in those games will help Nashville secure the number one seed in the playoffs, having a first round bye, and home field advantage until the 4A Championship game.
In the 7-2A conference, the Dierks Outlaws are the league’s only undefeated team, with two games remaining. The winner of the conference will secure home playoff games through at least the quarterfinal round.
