Regional baseball and softball tournaments postponed until Friday

Baseball and softball state regional tournaments were scheduled to begin today, but due to the threat of rain and severe weather, tournament play has been delayed until Friday.  At the 7-4A tournament in Malvern, Friday’s games will be played at their original start time from today.  The tournament is being consolidated from a three day event to a two day competition.  The semifinals, consolation games and championship contests will all be played Saturday, as part of a doubleheader.

At the 2A regional tournament, hosted by Parkers Chapel, games will begin tomorrow and continue Saturday, with the finals to be played Monday.

The top four teams from regionals will advance to next week’s state tournaments.
