REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER ARRESTED IN GLENWOOD ON FELONY WARRANTS

A registered Level 2 sex offender was arrested Wednesday following a joint operation involving the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the 18th West Judicial District Drug Task Force, and the Arkansas State Police.

According to a press release from Sheriff Neal Thomas, authorities executed an arrest warrant on Christopher Shawn Rider on June 3. Rider was located at a Circle K convenience store in Glenwood and was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators say Rider is facing three counts of Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration and Reporting Requirements, with each count classified as a Class C Felony.

Rider is currently being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond.

As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
