Reimagine Arkansas Workforce Project
The Arkansas Legislative Council reviewed details of a new program last week that is designed to benefit Arkansans who have been economically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Reimagine Arkansas Workforce Project provides funding for qualifying individuals to complete online training at no cost in order to meet workforce needs across the state. Arkansas Workforce Development board and the Arkansas Division of Workforce services was awarded $13 million to fund this project whic expects to service 3,000 Arkansans. Residents who are unemployed, underemployed, have little or no work history, receive public assistance, or live in rural areas are encouraged to apply. Training programs include business, construction, health care, manufacturing, technology, veterinary, and more. If accepted you will receive assistance in identifying possible career paths as well as resume building and making connections to potential employers. Last week, the unemployment rate in Arkansas declined one-tenth of a percent from 4.4% in June to 4.3% in July. The national unemployment rate for comparison currently stands at 5.4%. Workforce services says jobs are abundant in the state and they hope this program will help to connect more Arkansans to a meaningful career. For more information regarding this program visit:
