Reminder: Scrapper Lunch Express Continues Free Summer Meal Program Through July 24

The Nashville School District is reminding families that the Scrapper Lunch Express continues to provide free meals to children and teens throughout the community through July 24.

The program operates Monday through Friday and is open to anyone 18 years old and younger. Parents and guardians may also pick up meals for their children. In addition to a free lunch, participants receive breakfast for the following day and can choose from two meal options.

The Scrapper Lunch Express begins its daily route at 10:45 a.m., making stops at Nashville Primary School, Brentwood Apartments, Dillard Street Apartments, Toland Heights Park, Williams Memorial Church, the corner of Henderson and Washington streets, South Pine Street and Karlie, McLaughlin Trailer Park, Band Wheel Trailer Park, Peachtree Trailer Park, Diamond Lodge Trailer Park and the Nashville School District Administration Building.

Pizza is served on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Nashville Primary School only.

Harvest Regional Food Bank will hold a USDA food distribution on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Sunset Church of Christ in Nashville.

USDA food boxes will be available to the first 144 qualified households. Recipients must be Howard County residents and provide a valid driver’s license or other photo identification, along with proof of address.
