Restoration project ongoing at EA Williams Chapel and Museum
A restoration project is ongoing at the EA Williams Chapel and Museum in Nashville. The building, which has been part of the Howard County Historical Society property the past several years, has seen its foundation deteriorate slowly since work was performed in 1980. In turn, this has caused the building & tower to lean slightly. Through a recent fund raising effort, enough money was collected to pay for the project. Freddie Horne of the local historical society, details the project:
The project will cost more than 10 thousand dollars. Horne said the funds were raised in less than two weeks and included a sizeable donation by the Williams family…along with donations made by people from the entire region.
The foundation portion of the project is expected to be finished by the end of this month. The exterior work will be delayed until warmer weather.
