Rotary Program Highlights Daisy State Park Upgrades and Activities

Daisy State Park Superintendent Nathan Fort and park interpreter Sophia Maring spoke to the Nashville Rotary Club on Wednesday, sharing exciting updates and ongoing programs at the park.

Fort discussed numerous improvements that have been made recently, including the addition of a brand-new Visitor Center.

He also shared plans for continued development, noting that by 2026, the park will feature approximately 25 full-hookup campsites, a new hiking trail, and upgraded restroom facilities.

Maring, who joined the park staff about two months ago, has already introduced several new interpretive programs. She said programs are offered Thursday through Sunday and include activities such as “Biking the Park,” “Fishing Fun,” Dutch oven cooking demonstrations, “Night Owl Prowl,” sunset kayak tours, and “Birding Basics.”

Fort noted that Daisy State Park receives between 7,000 and 8,000 visitors each month, underscoring the park’s popularity and ongoing importance as a regional outdoor destination.
