Glory Bee Soup Kitchen in Mineral Springs is serving the community

Judy Jones of the Glory Bee Soup Kitchen at the Mineral Springs Church of Christ was the guest speaker this week at the Nashville Rotary Club meeting.

Jones reported the Glory Bee Soup Kitchen started with the great give-away that they church held every year. Now, the church provides not only clothing and household items, but a meal and food boxes. Jones said they serve a meal from 5 to 6 pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. She said they also distribute food boxes on the 4th Wednesday of each month.

Jones said the Glory Bee Soup Kitchen is the hands and feet of Jesus in the Mineral Springs community.

Jones said the Glory Bee Soup Kitchen primarily serves the community of Mineral Springs, but they’ve also helped people from Nashville and Dierks. She said they serve an average of over 200 meals every two weeks and they distribute over 130 food boxes a month.

Jones said they recently started handing out after-school meals to the students of the Mineral Springs Elementary and High School. She said they are handing out over 200 meals a week.

Jones stated they need volunteers to help and all donations are welcome.
