Scrapper Fellowship Event
Monday evening, the Nashville Athletic Department held a fellowship event in the high school cafeteria for former and current Scrapper football players and their families.
Nashville Athletic Director James Nichols informed KMTB his reason for wanting to host the event.
The theme for the event was “That Scrapper Spirit”, and former players and coaches spoke about the Scrapper football fraternity, culture and tradition.
Former player, Trey Branch told players to wait their turn and to leave the Scrapper program better then they found it.
Jamie Erby encouraged the current Scrappers to keep doing what they are supposed to do and to “be their best when the lights are the brightest.”
Erby said the Scrapper program is special because of the community’s involvement.
All-time leading receiver, Greg Washington stated it was an honor to speak to this group of young Scrappers. He then asked the current Scrappers, how they wanted to be remembered.
Nichols stated he hopes the Scrapper Fellowship will become a yearly event as past Scrappers share that Scrapper Spirit with current and future Scrappers.
