Scrapper Football Practices Continues After Break

Football practice resumed Monday for the Nashville Scrappers following the dead week period. Head coach Mike Volarvich says the state mandated restrictions due to COVID-19 are presenting a challenge for coaches as they implement an entirely new defensive scheme and provide some new things on offense as well.

The Scrapper football program has also received some national recognition this month. Maxpreps has listed Nashville among the all time elite programs in the nation as far as the total number of football victories.

The Scrappers rank as the country’s 30th most winning high school program. The article says Nashville has a combined football record of 797 victories with 336 losses and 29 ties in school history.

Nashville is the third Arkansas school listed behind Little Rock Central and Pine Bluff. Those schools have 810 wins each.
