Scrapper meet and greet and bon fire pep rally tonight
The Nashville Scrappers advanced to the second round of the 4A state playoffs last week with a 28-7 victory over the Bauxite Miners. This week, the Scrappers will be back on the road and traveling to Pocahontas for a match-up with the 10 and 1 Redskins. Pocahontas went undefeated in the 3-4A conference and advanced to the second round last week with a 56-14 victory over Lincoln.
Nashville athletic director Bunch Nichols announced Tuesday that the district had scheduled a meet and greet for all current and former Scrapper football players for this Thursday at 5:30 pm in the old high school gymnasium. He said it will be a time for the past to meet the present.
Following the meet and greet, Nichols said the public is invited to attend a bon fire pep rally on the old practice field. He said everyone can enjoy some hot chocolate and Scrapper cookies.
Nichols said the Scrapper Booster Club is chartering three buses to take the Scrapper football team, cheerleaders and band to Pocahontas. He said you can sponsor a Scrapper football player, cheerleader or band member with a $50 donation.
The Scrappers and the Redskins will kickoff Friday night at 7 pm and you can listen to the game live on B 99.5.
