Scrapperettes and Outlaws advance to state tournament

Nashville and Dierks won games Thursday at their respective regional basketball tournaments.  The Scrapperettes rolled to a 65 to 31 victory over Hamburg before the home crowd at Scrapper Arena.  Nashville advances to the tournament’s semifinal round Saturday afternoon, where they will play a four p.m. game against the winner of today’s Star Cty/Mena contest.

At the 2A regional in Dierks yesterday, the Outlaws had to come from behind, but defeated Woodlawn, 50 to 41.  Dierks is scheduled to play Saturday afternoon at 2:30 against the winner of today’s game between Cutter Morning Star and Lafayette County.  Yesterday’s wins by Nashville and Dierks will secure a spot for both teams at their respective state tournaments.
