Scrapperettes defeat Ashdown in Magnolia tournament
It took a few innings for the Nashville Scrapperette offense to get started yesterday against Ashdown on the opening day of the Magnolia softball tournament. The Lady Panthers held a three run lead, until the 4th inning, when the Scrapperettes scored three runs of their own to tie the game. From that point, Nashville controlled the rest of the contest, for a nine to three victory.
Maci McJunkins pitched the victory for Nashville. At the plate, the Scrapperettes had 9 runs on 11 hits. Their offensive effort was aided by eight errors from the Ashdown defense.
Today, the Scrapperettes will play a jv game against Genoa Central at 2:30 and the varsity team plays Magnolia in a 5 o’clock contest. B99.5 will have both games on the radio this afternoon.
