Scrapperettes defeat Mena improve to 5-1 in conference

The Scrapperettes improved to 5-1 in the 7-4-A conference after defeating the Ladycats of Mena 9-4 Thursday afternoon.

Mattison Steele earned the win. She gave up 4-runs on 8-hits, while striking out five over 6-innings.  Maci McJunkins pitithe 7th inning. She gave up no runs on one hit while striking out two of the batters she faced.

Ellen Spigner had 2-RBIs and scored one run in one hit. Steele scored two runs and hit a double.

The Scrapperettes will host Malvern this afternoon on Futrell Field in the Nashville City Park at 5 pm. The game will be broadcast on 105.5 the Maverick.
