Scrappers and Scrapperettes will play De Queen today

There are some changes to the Nashville High School baseball & softball schedules this week.  Due to the threat of rain and severe weather, both teams will be playing a conference game against De Queen this afternoon.  The softball game is to be played at De Queen today, starting at four o’clock.  The Scrapperettes were victorious in one of their three games Saturday afternoon in Benton.  However, Nashville was just a play or two away from beating Benton, which is the best team in Arkansas softball and the 16th best in the nation.  The Scrapperettes forced extra innings in that contest, before losing on a game ending home run.

For the Scrappers, they ended a five game losing streak with an 11 to 2 Friday afternoon home victory over Malvern.  Nashville defeated the Leopards in both games this season.  Today’s scheduled game at UA Rich Mountain in Mena has been cancelled and the game with De Queen, originally scheduled for tomorrow, has be moved to today instead.  The Scrappers will play at De Queen this afternoon, with a first pitch time set at four o’clock.  This will be the first time De Queen and Nashville have met this season.
