Scrappers are hunting Leopards tonight in the semi-finals

The Nashville Scrappers defeated the Elkins Elks last week by a score of 63 to 62 in what can only be described as one of the best high school playoff football games in a long time and that will sets up a re-match with the Malvern Leopards this week in Malvern.

Malvern defeated the Scrappers 48 to 35 in week 9 of the regular season.

Head coach Mike Volarvich said he was pleased with how his Scrappers didn’t give up and played hard for all four quarters. He said this is a very special bunch of players.

Nashville is 10 and 3 on the season and playing in the semi-finals of the 4A state playoffs. Coach Volarvich said this team was picked to finish fourth in the conference and here they are, one of the final four teams playing in the state.

The winner of tonight’s game will advance to the 4A state championship game next week in Little Rock at War Memorial Stadium against the winner of tonight’s Harding Academy – Arkadelphia game.

The Scrappers and the Leopards will kickoff tonight in Malvern at 7 pm. The game will be broadcast live on KMTB 99.5.
