Scrappers defeat Leopards; Badgers up next

The Nashville Scrappers baseball squad opened their post spring break play Monday afternoon at De Queen, with a come from behind 11 to 4 victory over the Leopards. Nashville spotted De Queen a four to nothing lead, before the Scrappers put a single run on the board in the top of the 3rd. It remained a 4 to 1 De Queen lead until the 5th inning, when the Scrapper bats came to life, scoring 4 runs to take the lead for good. Nashville added two more in the 6th and another 4 runs in the 7th inning for the victory.
At the plate, Aiden Smith had 3 hits to lead the Scrappers. Peyton Hilliard scored four times for Nashville. On the mound, Kason Willard drew the start and pitched two innings. Garrett Willard pitched 5 innings in relief to get the win.
Nashville is scheduled to be back on the road for another conference game today at Arkadelphia. Even though the Badgers have only won a couple games this season, Coach Kyle Slayton is expecting to the best from Arkadelphia:

B99.5 will have the five o’clock contest. The Scrapperettes softball team is also to play in Arkadelphia this afternoon. That game will be aired on KNAS 105.5 FM.
