Scrappers defeat previously unbeaten Panthers

At Wilson Park, the Scrapper Baseball Team cruised to a 5 to 1 victory over Ashdown in a rematch of teams who competed in the recent championship game of the Ralph Gross Tournament in Nashville.  Freshman pitcher Banks Ray threw less than 80 pitches to get the 7 inning complete game victory for the Scrappers.  Ray struck out three Panther batters in the game, while allowing just two walks.

At the plate, Kaleb Halter led Nashville, collecting a pair of hits in three at bats.  Several other Scrappers had one hit each in the contest.  Five different players scored Nashville’s five runs.

The Scrappers are back to Wilson Park for a six o’clock game this evening against Camden Harmony Grove.
