Scrappers Fall in Season Opener, 30-6 at Magnolia

The Nashville Scrappers kicked off their 2025 football season on the road Friday night, battling the Magnolia Panthers but ultimately coming up short, 30-6.

After Magnolia struck first to take an 8-0 lead in the opening quarter, the Scrappers answered back in the second. Senior running back Tucker Dixon powered across the goal line for Nashville’s first touchdown of the year, cutting the deficit to 8-6.

Magnolia added another score before halftime to make it 14-6 and held the momentum through the second half. Despite hard-fought efforts from the Scrappers’ defense, the Panthers managed to pull away, adding 16 more points after the break.

The loss moves Nashville to 0-1 on the season, but the Scrappers will now turn their focus to their home opener this Friday night against the Hope Bobcats. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Scrapper Stadium and B99.5 will have the live coverage.
