Scrappers fall to Lumberjacks

All of southwest Arkansas’ teams were eliminated Friday night from contention for a state football championship. In Class 2A, Fordyce defeated Gurdon, 27 to 24. The Class 3A playoffs had Prescott losing to McGehee, 44 to 39 on a late touchdown and Centerpoint was defeated by Glen Rose, 34 to 21. The Scrappers lost to Warren, 48 to 40. Nashville finished the season with a record of 9 and 3. The football championships were played Saturday in the state’s two largest classifications. There will be two games to be played each of the next two Saturdays to wrap up the 2020 season.
