Scrappers move to the quarterfinals; play at Elkins

Friday night, the Nashville Scrappers advanced to the quarterfinals of the 4A state playoffs with a 37 to 7 victory over the Pocahontas Redskins.

Pocahontas scored first and led 7 to nothing, but the Scrappers held the Redskins scoreless while scoring six rushing touchdowns.

Nashville scored with 3:06 remaining in the first quarter on a 10-play 84-yards possession. The Scrappers scored on the first play in the second quarter.

Senior quarterback Sloan Perrin scored on a 90 plus yard run with about seven minutes to play in the first half.

Nashville scored twice in the third quarter and with 6:43 to play in the game to move on in the playoffs where they will face the Elkins Elks the day after Thanksgiving.

Elkins defeated Ashdown 63 to 21.

The other 4A playoff scores were:

Harding Academy 45, DeWitt 7, McGehee 42, Haskell Harmony Grove 7, Arkadelphia 52, Ozark 21, Rivercrest 49, Star City 42, Warren 62, Stuttgart 24, and , Malvern 41, Lamar 31.

This week, Nashville will travel to Elkins, Warren will host Malvern, Harding Academy will host McGehee and Rivercrest will travel to Arkadelphia.
