Scrappers open season with home victory over Smackover

The Nashville Scrappers opened the 2022 baseball season Monday evening with a 4 to 2 win over Smackover in the newly renovated Wilson Park.  Garrett Willard pitched in relief of Scrapper starter Slade Slayton to record the victory.  Slayton and Willard combined to strikeout 10 Buckaroo batters.  Offensively, Aiden Smith led the Scrappers, getting three hits on the afternoon.  Smith also had a pair of RBI’s on the afternoon.

Next up for the Scrappers, will be the Ralph Gross Memorial Tournament, scheduled for Thursday through Saturday at Wilson Park.
