Several convictions recorded in Howard County Circuit Court

A Texarkana man has been sentenced this week in connection with a November 2021 break in and theft at a Mineral Springs car wash.  44 year old Jason Bethel was sentenced to three years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections and given another three year suspended sentence Wednesday on charges of Breaking or Entering and misdemeanor Theft of Property.  Bethel reportedly took $75 dollars from a money box at the car wash.

A ten year probated sentence was imposed Wednesday on 25 year old Truman Dixon, of Nashville.  Dixon was charged for the theft of several personal checks from an individual and then forging his name to use the checks.  Dixon was also fined $2,500 dollars.

35 year old Brad Foran, who lists a Dierks area address, was given a six year suspended sentence on charges of Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons.  Foran, who has a previous felony conviction from Sevier County, was the driver of a vehicle stopped for having defective equipment last November by Dierks police.  During that traffic stop, Foran told officers he had a weapon inside the vehicle.  Police said they located an AR-15 rifle inside Foran’s vehicle.

Foran was also fined $2,000 dollars during his sentencing Wednesday.

A 19 year old Nashville resident was sentenced to five years probation Wednesday.  Jesse Gammons was charged after Nashville police say they found him to be in possession of meth cocaine last November.  Gammons also attempted to avoid arrest, according to police, and was charged with a misdemeanor count of Resisting Arrest.  He entered a guilty plea to the charges and was sentenced to the probation and fined $1,500 dollars.
